Pihla Jaala is a dancer, educator, and social worker from Finland. She lives in Frankfurt am Main and completed her Master’s degree in Contemporary Dance Education (MA CoDE) at the HfMDK Frankfurt in 2025. She also holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and Social Work from the University of Eastern Finland (2020).
Rooted in contemporary dance, Pihla works as a freelancer and teaches contemporary dance, contact improvisation, and improvisation across Hesse. Her work is intergenerational, and she is interested in questions of access within dance pedagogy. As a dancer, Pihla is curious about the body’s ability to embody images and communicate experiences. She is passionate about diversity and interdisciplinary collaboration as ways to create sustainable and accessible communities and to explore togetherness in artistic and pedagogical processes.
